SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Oklahoma State's soccer squad defeated Southwest Missouri State, 3-1, here Sunday at SMS Soccer Field behind a balanced offensive attack.
Junior Kim Graves was the first to score when she converted on corner kick from sophomore Nikki Wojtowicz.
The Cowgirls continued to roll when sophomore Jolene Schweitzer found the back of the net on an assist from sophomore Krista Dedmon, giving Oklahoma State a 2-0 cushion at the half.
The final OSU goal of the game came on a well-executed shot by junior Jere Boykin, assisted by sophomore Carla Dolomont.
Katie DeCarlo scored the lone SMS goal unassisted in the second stanza.
Senior Kat Doud and freshman Jackie Hinton split time in goal, with Hinton surrendering the goal in the second half of play.
"It's good to get a win on the road," said Head Coach Karen Hancock. "The girls played well, but we have some things to work on before next weekend."
Oklahoma State kicks off the regular season with a road trip to Tulsa to take on Oral Roberts at 8 p.m. on Friday.
