Texas Outlasts Oklahoma State 8-6

ARLINGTON, Texas - Shortstop Michael Hollimon's RBI single in the eighth broke a 5-5 tie game and propelled Texas to an 8-6 win over Oklahoma State at the Big 12 Baseball Tournament at the Ballpark in Arlington.
Hollimon's hit was followed by a bases loaded two-run double by Dustin Majewski off of reliever Daniel Rew to make it 8-5.
Designated hitter Jake Bollig hit a solo homer to right-center in the eighth, his 12th of the year to make the final score 8-6.
Texas improved to 44-14 with the win while Oklahoma State fell to 37-21 with the loss and was eliminated from the tournament.
The Longhorns took a 1-0 lead in the second on a RBI double by designated hitter J.D. Reininger that plated leftfielder Brandon Fahey who singled and stole second earlier in the inning.
The Cowboys scored three runs in the bottom of the third to build a 3-1 lead. First baseman Josh Fields had the big hit in the inning, a two-run double off of the leftfield wall.
Texas put a three spot up of their own in the fourth to take a 4-3 lead. Matt Rosenberg and Ryan Hubele had RBI singles and Michael Hollimon a sacrifice fly to account for the runs. Dustin Majewski made it 5-3 in the fifth with a solo homer to right-center.
OSU scored a run in the bottom of the sixth on a RBI groundout by Jeff Salazar to cut the UT advantage to 5-4.
The Cowboys trailed 5-4 in the seventh when first baseman Josh Fields unloaded a solo homer to left, his third of the year, to tie the game at 5-5.
