Game 6-Texas vs. Oklahoma State
Head Coach Augie Garrido
"The game today was different from the standpoint of last night's late night exstravaganza. The players did what they needed to do. Oklahoma State battled through the entire thing, they kept themselves in the ballgame. It seems they got better and more competitive as the game went on. We had two big innings and they just had one."
"Teams that are playing well this time of the year are also hitting well."
On bases loaded situtation:
"If you are going good as a coach, then the batter hits into a double play; if you are having a tough time the guy drives in runs."
Dustin Majewski
"Nothing needed to be said to this team today, everyone knew what had to be done today. We have a bunch of leaders on our team, a bunch of seniors."
J.D. Reininger
"Last night was a tough loss and the game can go any way on any day. Coming in to today we had our backs to the wall, we pulled together and everyone played their role."
Oklahoma State Head Coach Mike Holliday
On the game-
"It was a very normal "play for your life" game that probably had a little bit of everything. The type that comes down to the last pitch, the last play. Guys make big league plays and that's the nature of the game. Obviously we fell short."
On UT being tired-
"We were counting on UT being tired. There is always that unmentioned angle. We were hoping they were empty. I thought if we stayed with them until the middle of the game, fatigue would set in. Their kids responded well. They are a championship ballclub."
On Big 12 teams in NCAA Regionals-
"I feel confident that our conference will see a breakthrough and get seven teams in. This league is that good."
