COWGIRLS TAKE ON THE HUSKERS
Oklahoma State (29-21 overall, 8-10 in Big 12) will enter the 2002 Big 12 Tournament this week as a No. 6 seed, and face the third seeded Nebraska Huskers at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 2, at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. The Huskers swept the Cowgirls, 3-2 and 2-1 in OSU's home conference opener earlier this year.
COMING UP
The winner of the OSU-NU contest will play at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The winner will face the winner of the Oklahoma vs. Kansas/Texas Tech game that will be played Thursday night. The loser of the OSU-NU game will play Friday at 3:30 p.m. on Field 2 with the winner playing at 7:30 p.m. A complete bracket can be found elsewhere in this release.
COWGIRL SOFTBALL ON THE AIR
All of Oklahoma State's postseason games will be broadcast live on Stillwater Radio. Bill VanNess will provide the play-by-play for the fourth-consecutive season. The Cowgirls' first round game with Nebraska will be broadcast live on KSPI 780 AM, as will any game starting prior to 6 p.m. Any game starting at 6 p.m. or later will be broadcast on KGFY 105.5 FM.
BIG 12 RANKINGS
Oklahoma State's pitching staff is third in the league in earned run average at 1.32, trailing Baylor who leads the conference with a 0.93 ERA and Texas with 1.13 ERA during all games. Junior Lauren Bay leads the league with 10 complete games and is second in the league in strikeouts during conference play, averaging 9.22 Ks per game. Sophomore Jade Lindly is second in the league with 12 home runs.
