LUBBOCK, Texas - Oklahoma State's softball team fell to Texas Tech, 1-0, here Sunday. After belting Tech for 13 hits on Saturday, the Cowgirl bats were quiet, mustering just one hit on the afternoon.
OSU's lone hit came in the top of the fifth when Jade Lindly led off the inning with a double. Megan Carey followed with a ground out and Calli Behmer struck out, but Lindly advanced to third on a passed ball to pose a scoring threat. It was not meant to be as Teresa Ritchie grounded out to end the inning and Tech retained the shutout.
With the Cowgirls lack of offensive production, Tech needed just one run to earn the win and it came in the bottom of the sixth. With one out, Kristi Robles hit a solo home run over the left field fence to give the Red Raiders the lead.
With the win Texas Tech earns its first conference win of the season and improves to 12-28 overall and 1-7 in the Big 12, while Oklahoma State falls to 24-13 overall and 4-5 in the Big 12.
Cami Carter picked up the loss for the Cowgirls, striking out two, walking one and giving up eight hits.
"Cami played pretty well today," said Head Coach Margaret Rebenar. "She worked herself out of some jams, but our offense just did not show up."
Oklahoma State returns to action on Wednesday, April 10, when it travels to Fayetteville, Ark. The Cowgirls will square off with Arkansas at 3 p.m. and Tulsa at 5 p.m.
