COWGIRLS TAKE ON THE LONGHORNS
Oklahoma State (29-19 overall, 8-8 in Big 12) will wrap up the Big 12 regular season with a trip to Austin to take on No. 14 Texas (42-10 overall, 15-1 in Big 12). The Cowgirls and Longhorns will meet in a two-game series on Saturday and Sunday, April 27-28, at 1 p.m. each day. Oklahoma State is coming off a loss to Oklahoma, 5-4, in round two of Bedlam action in Norman on Wednesday. Texas is riding a nine-game winning streak after defeating Texas A&M, 1-0, on Wednesday.
COMING UP
The next action for the Cowgirls will be the Big 12 Tournament, May 2-5, at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. The Cowgirls are currently in 5th place in the league, and can finish 5th, 6th or 7th depending on the outcome of the games this weekend.
ON THE ROAD
Oklahoma State is 6-6 overall and 4-3 in conference contests on the road. As a team, the Cowgirls are batting .201 with nine home runs, one triple and 10 doubles on foreign soil. Jade Lindly paces OSU with three home runs, two doubles and .400 batting average. On the mound, Cami Carter and Lauren Bay both hold a 3-3 record. Carter has one shutout and a 0.98 earned run average. Bay has six complete games and averages 9.4 Ks per game while holding her opponents to a .175 batting average.
BIG 12 RANKINGS
Oklahoma State's pitching staff is third in the league in earned run average at 1.44, trailing Baylor who leads the conference with a 0.73 ERA and Texas with 0.82 ERA. Junior Lauren Bay leads the league with 10 complete games and is second in the league in strikeouts during conference play, averaging 9.45 Ks per game. Sophomore Jade Lindly is tied for second in the league with 12 home runs. She also has a .651 slugging percentage, good for third in the league. Oklahoma State leads the league in team fielding percentage (.983) during conference games.
