COWGIRLS TRAVEL TO NORMAN
Oklahoma State (29-18 overall, 8-7 in Big 12) will head south to` face Oklahoma (38-12 overall, 11-2 in Big 12) in the Bedlam series finale at Norman. The Sooners and Cowgirls will take the field on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Oklahoma State wrapped up its home season on Monday with a sweep of Iowa State. The Cowgirls sqeuaked by in the first game, 1-0, coming up with the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh. OSU won the second game, 8-4, with a grand-slam homer in the bottom of the ninth. Oklahoma swept Kansas over the weekend, 6-3, and, 2-0.
COMING UP
Oklahoma State wraps up the Big 12 regular season this weekend with a road trip to Austin, Texas. The Cowgirls will face Big 12 conference leader, Texas, on Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m.
COWGIRL SOFTBALL ON THE AIR
The OU game in Norman will be broadcast live on KGFY 105.5 FM. Stillwater Radio's Bill VanNess will provide the play-by-play for the fourth-consecutive season. OSU's games at the Big 12 Tournament in Oklahoma City will also be broadcast live. Any game starting prior to 6 p.m. will air on KSPI 780 AM while any game starting at 6 p.m. or later will be broadcast on KGFY 105.5 FM.
BIG 12 RANKINGS
Oklahoma State's pitching staff is third in the league in earned run average at 1.24, trailing Baylor who leads the conference with a 0.89 ERA and Texas with 1.23 ERA. Junior Lauren Bay leads the league with nine complete games and is second in the league in strikeouts during conference play, averaging 9.61 Ks per game. Sophomore Jade Lindly is tied for the lead in home runs with 12. She also has a .676 slugging percentage, good for third in the league. Oklahoma State leads the league in team fielding percentage (.982) during conference games.
