Oklahoma State Defeats Oral Roberts 8-0

STILLWATER, Okla.--Junior right-hander Chris Reilly limited Oral Roberts to just three hits in seven and 2/3 innings and lead Oklahoma State to an 8-0 win in baseball action Friday night at Reynolds Stadium.
OSU snapped ORU's 11-game win streak and won its tenth straight home game to improve to 24-8 on the year while the Golden Eagles fell to 22-9.
Reilly walked four and struck out six to improve to 6-0 on the season while ORU starter Michael Rogers lost his first game of the year to drop to 7-1. He gave up seven runs on 11 hits with six strikeouts and one walk.
The Cowboys jumped on Rogers in the bottom of the first, scoring two runs on four hits in the stanza to take an early 2-0 lead. Nebasett Brown had a RBI triple and Daylon Monette a RBI single to account for the OSU runs.
Oklahoma State added a run in the second on a RBI double by catcher Jason Jaramillo then broke the game open with a three-run third inning to take a 6-0 lead. Paul Powell had a RBI single and then designated Jake Bollig followed with a two-run homer to right, his fourth of the year.
Monette added a RBI single in the fourth to extend the lead to 7-0. Bollig then added his second home run of the night, a solo shot in the eighth, to round out the Cowboy scoring.
Jeff Salazar, Daylon Monette, Jose Virgil, Jason Jaramillo and Bollig all had two hits apiece to lead the Cowboy attack.
The teams will be back in action Saturday at 2 p.m. Right-hander Jimmy Rhodes is expected to start for the Cowboys while Dennis Bigley is slated to start for Oral Roberts. Sunday's game time is a 2 p.m. start at J.L. Johnson Stadium in Tulsa instead of the 3 p.m. time previously reported.
