COWGIRLS HOST THE AGGIES
Oklahoma State (25-14 overall, 4-5 in Big 12) will host Texas A&M (32-10 overall, 5-5 in Big 12) this weekend at Cowgirl Stadium. The Cowgirls and Aggies will play a two-game set, squaring off Saturday, April 13, at 2 p.m. and again on Sunday, April 14, at 1 p.m. Oklahoma State traveled to Arkansas last Wednesday to participate in the Border War with Arkansas and Tulsa and earned a split. OSU fell to Arkansas, 3-0, in the first game and came back for the win in the second game, defeating Tulsa, 6-0. The Aggies improved their conference record to .500 on Wednesday, defeating Texas Tech, 3-0, and, 7-0, in doubleheader action.
COMING UP
Oklahoma State steps out of conference play next week to participate in the Farm Bureau Softball Challenge in Oklahoma City on Tuesday, April 16, and Wednesday, April 17. The Cowgirls will take on sixth-ranked Arizona Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.and 12th-ranked Fresno State at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
BIG 12 RANKINGS
Oklahoma State's pitching staff is second in the league in earned run average at 1.24, trailing Baylor who leads the conference with a 0.89 ERA. Junior Lauren Bay leads the league with six complete games and is second in the league in strikeouts during conference play, averaging 11.31 Ks per game. Sophomore Jade Lindly leads the league in home runs with 11 and is tied with Erica Martinez with a .787 slugging percentage to lead the league. She also has a .464 on-base percentage, good for fifth in the league.
SCOUTING REPORT ON TEXAS A&M
Texas A&M is 32-10 overall and 5-5 in the Big 12 Conference. The Aggies are led by freshman Adrian Gregory, who is batting .344 with nine doubles, three triples and three home runs. Junior Selena Collins is batting .333 with nine doubles and a team-high 10 home runs. On the mound, A&M is led by sophomore Jessica Slataper who has a 16-6 record and a 1.36 earned run average. She has 17 complete games and 10 shutouts while averaging 8.38 Ks per game. Also contributing on the mound are sophomore Lindsay Wilhelmson and junior Lindsey Rippee. Wilhelmson is 8-3 on the year with nine complete games, five shutouts and a 1.12 earned run average. Rippee has five shutouts, five complete games and a 1.54 earned run average.
COWGIRL SOFTBALL ON THE AIR
All of Oklahoma State's remaining home conference games, as well as the OU game in Norman and all postseason contests will be broadcast live on Stillwater Radio. Bill VanNess will provide the play-by-play for the fourth-consecutive season. Any game starting prior to 7 p.m. will air on KSPI 780 AM. Any game starting at 7 p.m. or later will be broadcast on Y105.5 FM.
