Women's Netters Fall in Consolation Round

Oklahoma State's 18th-ranked women's team fell to 9th-ranked Fresno State 6-1 in the consolation round on Friday at the National Women's Team Indoor Championship in Madison, Wisc.
The Cowgirls dropped two of the three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches.
The No. 5 ranked duo of junior Linda Faltynkova and sophomore Katia Kolodynska defeated No. 4 ranked Kim Niggemeyr and Simone Jardim 8-2 at the No. 1 doubles position.
Freshman Ines Furtmayr and junior Kate Vasylyeva fell to Fresno State's Kelly Ramirez and Chantel Wiggins 8-2 at the No. 3 doubles position.
The doubles team point was clinched by Fresno State when seniors Ashleigh Dolman and Dominika Olszewska lost to Chloe Carlotti and Courtney Jantz 8-3 at the No. 2 doubles position.
Vasylyeva recorded the only singles victory for the Cowgirls by beating Lucia Tallo 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 4 singles position.
The Cowgirls return to action Saturday morning at 9 a.m. against Southern California.
