Cowgirls defeat Southwest Missouri State

Oklahoma State's 16th-ranked women's tennis team defeated Southwest Missouri State 6-1 on Friday in the season opener for the Cowgirls.
The Cowgirls won the first team point by sweeping through the doubles matches.
The No. 5 ranked duo of junior Linda Faltynkova and sophomore Katia Kolodynska began the doubles sweep by defeating Zozrashvili and Godfrey 8-2. The senior duo of Ashleigh Dolman and Dominika Olszewska beat Cruz and Amato 8-4. Junior Erin Pauchnik and freshman Ines Furtmayr teamed up to defeat Rubina and Miller in a tie breaker 88 (7-2).
The Cowgirls won the first five singles matches to clinch the victory. Four of the five singles victories came in straight sets. Faltynkova defeated Cruz in three sets 6-2, 0-6, 6-4.
OSU will be back in action on Saturday when they take on Colorado State.
