STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Cowgirl softball team travels to Fullerton, Calif., this weekend to compete in the Worth Invitational hosted by Cal State-Fullerton.
The Cowgirls will open the invitational with a 2 p.m. (CST) contest with Minnesota on Friday. Immediately following that game, OSU will face the first of four ranked opponents, sixth-ranked California, at 4 p.m.
On Saturday, OSU will square off against 10th-ranked Pacific at 6 p.m., followed by 11th-ranked Oregon State at 8 p.m.
The Cowgirls will wrap up action in California with two games on Sunday. OSU will face Portland State in an 11 a.m. contest and 17th-ranked Cal State-Fullerton at 5 p.m.
Oklahoma State (9-2) opened the season with eight consecutive victories, its best start since 1997. OSU is coming off an 8-0 victory over Tulsa and a perfect game on the mound from junior Lauren Bay in the home opener of the regular season last Friday.
The Cowgirls two losses have come to teams ranked in the top-10. Overall, OSU is 1-2 vs. ranked opponents, having split with then sixth-ranked Iowa two weeks ago at the Louisville Slugger Classic in Tempe and dropping one to eighth-ranked Arizona State.
OSU is currently ranked 29th in the coaches poll, receiving seven votes. The Cowgirls will look to gain quality wins this weekend and move into the top-25.
