Women's Netters Defeat Boise State

Oklahoma State's 23rd-ranked women's tennis team defeated 55th-ranked Boise State 4-3 on Sunday in Edmond,Okla.
The Cowgirls took a 1-0 lead after winning two of three doubles matches.
Juniors Linda Faltynkova and Gorana Marsic teamed up at the No. 1 doubles spot to beat the 34th-ranked duo of Helen Lawson and Renate Stoop 8-5.
Senior Dominika Olszewska and junior Kate Vasylyeva beat Anna Curtolo and Alissa Ayling 8-5 at the No. 3 doubles position.
Faltynkova won in straight sets over Renate Stoop at the No. 1 singles position 6-1, 6-3.
Junior Erin Pauchnik claimed the third team point for OSU at the No. 5 singles position. Pauchnik defeated Curtolo 6-3, 6-4.
"Erin played an excellent match," said head coach Julius Lubicz-Majeweski. "I am very proud with the way she played."
The match was clinched by Vasylyeva at the No. 3 singles spot. Vasylyeva came back to win, after dropping the first set, over Jemima Hayward 6-7, 6-1, 6-1.
"I am so proud of the effort that our girls put into this match today," said Lubicz-Majewski. "Everyone played so well and came together to win."
The Cowgirls will return to action when they travel to Ft. Worth, Texas to take on Texas Christian University on March 3 at 11:00 a.m.
