Cowgirl Tennis Knocks Off Texas-Arlington

Oklahoma State's 23rd-ranked women's tennis team knocked off Texas-Arlington 5-2 in Edmond,Okla. on Friday.
The Cowgirls gained their first team point by winning two of three doubles matches to claim the doubles point.
OSU's doubles team of junior Linda Faltynkova and freshman Ines Furtmayr defeated Carolin Schappacher and Nadine Dressler of Texas-Arlington 8-6 at the No. 1 doubles position.
Senior Dominika Olszewska and junior Kate Vasylyeva teamed up to beat Katherine Warren and Priscilla Parra 8-5 at the No. 3 doubles spot.
The Cowgirls clinched the match by winning four of six singles matches.
Olszewska fell in the first set to Schappacher, but bounced back to win the match 3-6, 6-2, 7-6(5) at the No. 2 singles spot.
Vasylyeva recorded a victory at the No. 3 singles position with a win over Marie Stepanova 6-2, 6-3.
Junior Erin Pauchnik defeated Warren at the No. 5 singles position 6-4, 6-3. Furtmayr defeated Jitka Vetrovcova 6-4, 6-5 at the No. 6 singles spot.
"This was a good win. Erin (Pauchnik) and Dominika (Olszewska) were sick but still battled to win their matches," said head coach Julius Lubicz-Majewski. "I am very proud of our team."
The Cowgirls will return to action on Sunday when they host Boise State.
