GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - The final day of the UTA Classic tournament was cancelled due to cold temperatures here in Grand Prairie. Oklahoma State was to play in a semifinal game against tournament host, Texas-Arlington, this morning at 9 a.m. The other semifinal matchup between Baylor and OU was also scheduled for 9 a.m., with the finals to be played at noon. The weather-shortened tournament ended in a four-way tie for first place.
To reach the semifinals, the Cowgirls defeated Texas-San Antonio, 6-1, and Baylor, 7-3, on Friday. Oklahoma State picked up three wins Saturday, defeating Louisiana-Monroe, 5-1, Texas-Arlington, 3-1, and Utah, 12-1.
The Cowgirls (5-0) will return to Cowgirl Stadium to host Connors State in an exhibition doubleheader Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 3 p.m. The scrimmage, originally scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 5, was postponed due to inclement weather.
