Cowboys Dominate UMKC, 85-61

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Ivan McFarlin had a career-high 24 points as Oklahoma State beat UMKC 85-61 Wednesday night.
McFarlin shot 11-of-15 from the field and pulled down 15 rebounds for his second double-double in as many games.
Oklahoma State dominated UMKC down low - where McFarlin scored most of his points - grabbing a 50-14 edge in points in the paint.
The Cowboys (7-1) pushed their lead into double-digits at 25-14 on McFarlin's layup with 9:14 to play in the first half, and didn't let the Kangaroos get closer than 10 the rest of the way.
Michael Watson, who entered the game with the nation's best scoring average at 30.8 points a game, had a game-high 28 points for winless UMKC (0-7).
OSU got 15 points and seven assists from Victor Williams, 15 points from Tony Allen and 13 from Melvin Sanders. All three players had three steals.
The Cowboys held UMKC to 27.9 percent shooting for the game, and a stifling 20 percent from the field in the second half when the Kangaroos shot 7-of-35, including 1-of-10 from 3-point range.
OSU shot just under 56 percent from the field, but turned the ball over 21 times - 18 of those on UMKC steals.
