Cowgirl Netters Finish Fall Season In Dallas

DALLAS, Texas (OSU Athletics ) - The Cowgirl duo of Linda Faltynkova and Katia Kolodynska began competition at the 2002 Omni Hotels National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships this Thursday, in Dallas Texas.

Faltynkova and Kolodynska earned the spot at nationals thanks to a second place showing at the Riviera All-American tournament. In Dallas, the duo faced tough competition against the top doubles teams in the nation.

In their first round, the Cowgirls were defeated by Jenny Kuhn and Julie Smekodub of Tulane, 8-5.

After being bumped into the consolation bracket, Faltynkova and Kolodynska were unable to pull off a victory, falling to Victoria Domina and Brenda Magnetti of Ouachita Baptist, 8-4.

The Cowgirl duo will return home and begin off season preparation for spring competition. Faltynkova and Kolodynska will enter the season as one of the top women's doubles team in the nation.
