Normal, Ill. - Oklahoma State's men's cross country team placed ninth Saturday at the District V Championships run on the Illinois State University Golf Course in Normal, Ill.
An injury plagued Cowboy squad was led by senior Ben Lake, who placed 23rd in his final race for the Cowboys. Seniors Ben Sigle and Derek Tate also ran in their final collegiate races. Junior Chris McWatters placed 32nd and sophomore Scott Rantall crossed the finish line in 59th. The Pokes were without junior Jason Woolhouse, who had notched four top-three finishes on the season.
The ninth place finish ends both the season for the Pokes and their nine year streak of consecutive appearances in the national meet.
