Oct. 30, 2002
Stillwater, Okla. - Oklahoma State's men's cross country team will run in the Big 12 Championships Saturday in Columbia, Mo.
The Cowboys will try to improve on their second-place finish a year ago and knock off defending champion Colorado.
The Pokes have been very successful this season against Big 12 squads, placing ahead of Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas Tech in the Cowboy Jamboree, and outrunning Nebraska, Kansas State and Oklahoma in the Chile Pepper.
Junior Jason Woolhouse looks to extend his streak of three consecutive top three finishes, including a win at the Spiked Shoe Invitational. Junior Chris McWatters and seniors Ben Lake and Ben Sigle will also be looking to add another top 10 finish to their resumes. The Cowboys will miss the services of senior Derek Tate, who is sidelined due to injury.
This will be the last meet for the Pokes before they head to Normal, Ill. on Nov. 16 for the District V Championships.
