Cowgirl Softball Splits Doubleheader With Connors State

Stillwater, Okla. - Oklahoma State's softball team split a doubleheader here Thursday afternoon with Connors State, falling in the first game, 7-3, before rebounding for an 8-3 win in game two.
Rachel Jacobson highlighted CSC's five-run second inning with a grand slam home run down the left field line, giving the Cowgirls of Warner a 5-2 lead.
OSU took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Teresa Ritchie hit a two-out triple and scored on a double by Ryan Realmuto. The Cowgirls increased the score to 2-0 in the second when Stephanie Hodges scored on an RBI single by Jenny Kipp.
Connors State upped the score to 7-2 in the fourth on three base hits to start the inning. OSU added a run in the fifth on an RBI single by Summer Younk-Cazelle for the final score.
In game two, Oklahoma State trailed, 3-2, going into the bottom of the sixth. Jamie Koshmider led off with a double, and after a walk and a base hit loaded the bases, Ritchie walked to plate the tying run. Realmuto followed with a double, her second of the day, scoring two more runs. Calli Behmer finished off the offensive output with a two-run hit.
Oklahoma State (5-1) will close out the fall season this Saturday as the Cowgirls host the annual Cowgirl Fall Mini-Classic at Cowgirl Stadium. Games start at 9 a.m. and admission is free.
