Cowboys Drop Series Finale To Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. - Oklahoma State's baseball team fell to Nebraska 20-2 in a seven-inning run rule today at Buck Beltzer stadium.
With the loss, Oklahoma State falls to 35-18 overall and 13-14 in Big 12 conference play. Fourth-ranked Nebraska improves to 38-12 overall and 19-6 in conference action.
Nebraska got on the board first in the second inningcourtesy of Brandon Eymann's three-run homer and a pair of singles. The Huskers added two runs in the third inning and three runs in the fourth to take a 9-0 lead.
Oklahoma State got on the board in the fifth inning as Jimbo McAuliff hit a solo home run to over the right field fence. Paul Powell led off the sixth inning with a triple and scored on Jose Virgil's sacrifice fly, making the score 18-2.
Nebraska added nine runs in the fifth inning and two runs in the bottom of the sixth to bring the score to 20-2.
Brian Kraft led the Cowboys offensively, going 3-for-3. Powell was 1-for-3 with a triple, and McAuliff was 1-for-4 with a home run.
The Cowboys will return to action this weekend as they face intrastate rival Oklahoma at Driller's Stadium in Tulsa, Okla. First pitch is set for 7 p.m.
