Oklahoma State's baseball team scored eight unanswered runs on Sunday afternoon to down Baylor 15-5 in the series finale before 2,132 fans at Reynolds Stadium.
With the Cowboys holding an 11-5 lead, catcher Matt Oakes smashed a grand slam to left field to end the contest in the seventh inning due to the mercy rule.
OSU took advantage of four long balls on the day, including a three-run blast by Paul Powell in the first inning that gave the Pokes a 3-0 lead. Freshman Joe Weaver came on to hold the Bears in check over the final three frames and pick up the win.
In the sixth, Jimbo McAuliff belted his first homer of the season, a three-run shot to left. Luke Scott closed out the scoring in the inning with his 14th dinger of the season, a solo blast to right-center field. In the seventh, Oakes put the finishing touches on the game with his four-RBI round tripper.
The Cowboys will return to action on Tuesday when BYU comes to town for a 6 p.m. contest at Reynolds Stadium.

Last week: Fifth place at Big 12 Championship
Oklahoma State's golf team took advantage of calm conditions on Tuesday at Prairie Dunes Country Club to shoot its lowest round at the Big 12 Championship, a 12-over-par mark of 292, and finish in fifth place.
After windy conditions that saw team scores balloon on Monday, including a 311 and a 309 from the Cowboys, all five OSU players tied or bettered their first-day totals, but were unable to improve their standing on the leaderboard.
Par Nilsson shot his second consecutive 74 to finish in a tie for second place with a three-round total of 223, 13-over-par.
Cowboy sophomore J.C. DeLeon picked up his first top-ten finish of the season. The Tulsa native shot a 2-over 72 on Tuesday to wrap up play in a three-way tie for 10th place at 228.

Last week: First place at Big 12 Championships
Oklahoma State's 10th-ranked golf team won the Big 12 Championships in Rhodes, Iowa, Wednesday afternoon, led by senior Maria Bod?n's individual title won on the first hole of a three-person playoff.
The championship is the Cowgirls' second in three years. OSU also won the 1999 team title, led by Bod?n's individual championship.
Oklahoma State won by six strokes over second-place Texas, which was tied with OSU after the second round. Missouri, which led the tournament after two rounds, shot a 321 on the final day, dropping to fourth place behind Baylor. Nebraska rounded out the top-five teams.
Bod?n, who was named the Big 12 Golfer of the Year earlier in the day, had four birdies and four bogeys for an even-par round the final day. Only Lisa Meldrum of Oklahoma had a better round, shooting a 71 to enter a three-way tie for first.
Amelia Moses of Missouri shot a 75 to join Bod?n and Meldrum.
Bod?n sank a 20-foot birdie putt on the first hole of the playoff for the win. It was a straight putt that appeared to have stopped short but fell over the lip into the cup. Both Moses and Meldrum conceded short par putts. Bod?n was not without assistance, however, in winning the team title as all three of OSU's scorers shot a 75 or better during the final round, giving the Cowgirls the best round of the tournament at 295. Junior Emma Zackrisson finished with a 231 three-round total, good enough for sixth place, while sophomore Linda Wessberg shot a 233, tying three others for a seventh-place finish. Both earned all-tournament honors.
Wessberg was awarded another honor earlier in the day, earning her second-consecutive second-team All-Big 12 accolade. The Swedish native was the Newcomer of the Year last season.

Defeated Texas A&M, 2-1
Oklahoma State's softball team took a 2-1 decision from the No. 23 Texas A&M Aggies, sweeping A&M and finishing at .500 for the conference season. The Cowgirls can finish no worse than fifth place in the standings following this week's final conference games.
Oklahoma State struck for a run in the third on Jenny Kipp's RBI double. Casey O'Neill led off by reaching first on an error by Aggie third baseman Jennifer Davis. After Lezli Leathers popped out, Danielle Thomas reached on a fielder's choice, advancing O'Neill to second. Kipp then smashed a double off the left-field fence to score O'Neill and move Thomas to third.
The Aggies held OSU to only one run in the inning as Amanda Hayes followed with a line drive to center field that was caught by a diving Angie Shetler. Shetler then got up and doubled off Thomas who had run home, not realizing that Shetler had made the catch.
The Cowgirls tallied their final run in the top of the fourth when catcher Ryan Realmuto led off with her sixth home run of the season. Realmuto finished the weekend going 4-for-6 in the series with two home runs, two RBIs and two runs scored.
Lauren Bay (13-10) pitched a complete game for the Cowgirls, striking out six, walking three, allowing three hits and no earned runs.
Oklahoma State will host the Wichita State Shockers on Wednesday, May 2, at 6 p.m. at Cowgirl Stadium. It will be the final regular-season game for two Cowgirl seniors.
