Oklahoma State's 12th-ranked women's tennis team captured its 13th straight win on Saturday when they defeated Iowa State in Ames, Iowa.
The Cowgirls won two-of-three doubles matches and all six singles matches en route to a 7-0 victory over the Cyclones.
Sophomore Linda Faltynkova and freshman Katarzyna Kolodynska recorded the first victory for the Cowgirls by defeating Edna Vazquez and Courtney Leese, 8-1, at the No. 2 spot, while sophomore Kate Vasylyeva and junior Dominika Olszewska notched the first team point by defeating Tara Goedjen and Kristin Gyaki, 8-3, at the No. 3 position.
The Cowgirls only set-back of the day was at the No. 1 doubles position. OSU's 35th-ranked duo of senior Maria Galoustova-Phillips and junior Ashleigh Dolman fell to Noortje Cornelissen and Sabrina Evers, 8-6.
Phillips recorded her 13th consecutive victory by defeating Cornelissen in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, at the No. 1 position, while Faltynkova defeated Sabrina Evers, 6-1, 6-0, at the No. 3 position, improving her record to 17-3.
After dropping her last two matches, Kolodynska defeated Gyaki, 6-1, 7-5, at the No. 4 spot, while Dolman blanked Leese in the first set, 6-0, and won the second set, 6-3, at the No. 6 spot, improving her record to 9-5.
Olszewska and Vasylyeva each won at the Nos. 2 and 5 positions, respectively.
With the win, the Cowgirls improve to 8-1 in Big 12 play and 18-3 overall. The Cowgirls will travel to Lincoln, Neb., on Sunday as they take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
