Cowgirls Fall To Baylor, 1-0, In 14 Innings

WACO, Texas - Oklahoma State pitcher Lauren Bay threw a 14-inning complete game, but the Cowgirls lost as Baylor scored a run in the bottom of the 14th for a 1-0 victory here Saturday evening in Big 12 softball action. BU pitcher Joni Miller threw a complete-game shutout, give up just four hits while striking out eight Cowgirl batters.
Only two Cowgirls got hits for OSU, with Bay going 2-for-5 in the leadoff spot and senior left fielder Amanda Hayes going 2-for-6 with a double. Baylor had seven players with a hit, while catcher Ryan Stukel went 2-for-4.
The game was the longest for Oklahoma State since an 11-7 win over the Nebraska Huskers in 18 innings in the 1997 Big 12 Tournament. OSU is 0-3 in extra-inning games this season.
The Cowgirls have now gone 23-straight innings without plating a runner. OSU was shut out, 3-0, on Wednesday by the Wichita State Shockers.
Oklahoma State (18-13 overall, 3-2 Big 12) will face the Bears (28-11, 1-1) again on Sunday in a 1 p.m. game.
