No. 15 Cowgirls To Host Sooners

Oklahoma State's 15th-ranked women's tennis team will host the Sooners on Wednesday at the DeBois Center at 1 p.m.
The Cowgirls are coming off two impressive wins against Big 12 foe Kansas and No. 42 SMU. The Cowgirls played immaculate, defeating both teams 7-0 and improving their record to 12-3 and 2-1 in Big 12 play.
The Cowgirls are led by the 88th-ranked senior Maria Galoustova-Phillips. The Moscow, Russia, native has won her last seven matches, six of which has been in straight sets and the last three have been over ranked opponents, while sophomore Linda Faltynkova has been on a hot streak too. Winning her last six matches, Faltynkova has posted a record of 12-2 at the No. 3 position.
Galoustova-Phillips and junior Ashleigh Dolman has teamed up to fill the No. 1 doubles spot. The 21st-ranked duo have compiled a record of 9-4, including two victories over ranked opponents and a victory at the National Indoor Championships in Madison, Wis.
Faltynkova has teamed up with freshman Katarzyna Kolodynska at the No. 2 position. Faltynkova and Kolodynska have been on a tear in their initial campaign together. After posting a 3-3 mark in the fall, the duo has won its last 15 matches, improving thier record to 15-0 on the season.
Kolodynska and sophomore Kate Vasylyeva has been ripping up the courts in their first year as Cowgirls. Kolodynska has posted a record of 11-4 including six consecutive victories, five of which has been in straight sets, while Vasylyeva has posted a 9-3 mark and is 2-1 in Conference play.
Vasylyeva and junior Dominika Olszewska fill the No. 3 doubles position, where they have posted an 8-4 mark, winning its last five matches.
The Cowgirls and Sooners have met 32 times previously, with OSU winning 23 of the matches. OSU won the last match 6-3 in Norman, while OU's last win came in 1998 when they beat the Cowgirls 9-0 in Norman.
