Three Cowgirls Advance to National Show

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Three members of the Oklahoma State equestrian team placed in the top three riders in their classes today at the Zone 7 show in Fort Collins, Colo., and qualified to compete in the IHSA national show.
Sophomore Jenny Myles was named the zone champion in both the western and hunt seat disciplines. She won the beginning western horsemanship class and the walk-trot class.
Amber Higgins also won her hunt seat class, earning another zone championship for the Cowgirls.
Casie Cavanaugh will also advance to nationals, placing second behind Myles in the beginning western horsemanship class.
"We didn't have as many people progress to nationals as we had hoped, but we are very excited about the zone champions and the girls that will be going," head coach Larry Sanchez said.
The IHSA national show will be held May 4-6 in Conyers, Ga.
