Oklahoma State's 15th-ranked women's tennis team will host 42nd-ranked SMU on Sunday at the DeBois Center at 11 a.m.
In winning their last six matches, the Cowgirls have boasted a record of 11-3 on the season, and 2-1 in Big 12 play.
The Cowgirls are led by senior Maria Galoustova-Phillips. The 88th-ranked Moscow, Russia, native has won seven of her last eight matches, including two victories over Big 12 foes Texas A&M and Kansas, to improve her record to 9-4 on the season.
Galoustova-Phillips and junior Ashleigh Dolman have teamed up this year at the No. 1 doubles position. The 27th-ranked duo has won six of their last seven matches, including four victories over ranked opponents.
In their initial campaign together, sophomore Linda Faltynkova and freshman Katarzyna Kolodynska have been on a tear. The tandem has won its last 14 matches, including three victories at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships and three victories over Big 12 foes Texas, Texas A&M and Kansas.
The Cowgirls and Mustangs have met seven times previously, with OSU winning four of the matches. OSU and SMU's last match came in 1995, where the Cowgirls won, 7-3, in Dallas. The Mustangs last win came in 1984 when they defeated the Cowgirls, 7-2, in Dallas.
The Cowgirls will continue Big 12 play on Wednesday when in-state rival Oklahoma comes to town. The match is slated to start at 1 p.m. at the DeBois Center.
