COWGIRLS HOST KANSAS JAYHAWKS
Oklahoma State (15-10) will open the Big 12 Conference portion of its schedule when the Kansas Jayhawks (12-13) come to town on Wednesday, March 21, at 3 p.m. for doubleheader action. OSU is coming off a 3-0 loss to Tulsa Tuesday afternoon, while Kansas is coming off a win over Tulsa, 8-3, last weekend in the Holiday Inn Invitational in Lawrence.
LAST TIME OUT
OSU got just three hits off Tulsa starter Jenny Magill as the Golden Hurricane shut out the Cowgirls, 3-0, Tuesday afternoon at the Charles Page Complex in Sand Springs, Okla. Cowgirl starter Sarah Knife Chief threw just two innings, giving up three runs on six hits, before frshman Kara Wentworth came in and threw four shutout innings of no-hit ball.
COMING UP
OSU will host the Texas Tech Red Raiders this weekend with single games on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively. The Cowgirls will then travel to Wichita, Kan., next Wednesday to face the WSU Shockers in a single game at 5 p.m.
MISCELLANEOUS NOTES
Sophomore Lauren Bay leads the team in two-out RBIs with nine, followed by freshman Jade Lindly, who has eight ... Freshman Calli Behmer is batting .800 with runners in scoring position (4-for-5) ... Junior Angela Veronesi has reached base successfully on 8-of-9 plate appearances when leading off an inning ... Oklahoma State has scored 20 of its 88 runs this season in the first inning ... OSU has 35 multiple-hit games this season as a team, including a 4-for-4 performance by Veronesi vs. Utah in the Red Desert Classic ... Sophomore Ryan Realmuto has thrown out 8-of-33 attempted base stealers, or 24.2 percent ... Freshman Jade Lindly leads the Cowgirls in pinch-hitting, going 2-for-3 this season ... Oklahoma State has lost three of its last four games, following an eight-game winning streak that spanned two weekends ... OSU?s loss to Tulsa Tuesday was just its second shutout this season, the Cowgirls are 9-2 this season in shutout contests.
SERIES WITH KANSAS
Oklahoma State leads the all-time series with Kansas, 49-35, including an 8-5 record in Stillwater. The majority of the games have been played at neutral sites. OSU won both games last year, and has won 10 of the last 13, dating back to 1996.
ABOUT THE KANSAS JAYHAWKS
Kansas is 12-13 this season and 2-0 on the road. The Jayhawks are led by Erin Garvey, who is batting .412 with 33 hits in 80 at-bats. On the mound, Kansas has three players that have started, including Kara Pierce, who is 8-5 with a 2.25 earned run average, and Kirsten Milhoan, who is 4-6 with a 3.87 ERA. Kelly Campbell has started four games this season, and is 0-2 with a 4.45 ERA.

COWGIRL SOFTBALL ON THE AIR
Beginning with the Kansas series, the remainder of Oklahoma State?s home games, as well as the OU game in Norman, will be broadcast live on Stillwater Radio. Bill VanNess will provide the play-by-play for the third-consecutive season. Most games will be broadcast on 780 AM, with a few exceptions. Both OU games will be on 105.5 FM, as will the Tulsa game on April 11. All postseason games will also be aired on Stillwater Radio.
