COWGIRLS HOST OKLAHOMA CITY
Oklahoma State (14-9) will host the NAIA's top-ranked team in Oklahoma City this Thursday in a single game starting at 3 p.m. OCU is 8-5 this season and the Stars? game at Tulsa Tuesday was postponed.
LAST TIME OUT
OSU is coming off a 4-2 record last weekend in the Speedline Invitational in Tampa, Fla. The Cowgirls won their first four games, extending an eight-game winning streak, before falling to Utah in the first round of bracket play.
COMING UP
Oklahoma State will face the Tulsa Golden Hurricane next Tuesday, March 20, at 4 p.m. at the Charles Page Softball Complex in Sand Springs, Okla. The next day, Wednesday, the Cowgirls will open Big 12 Conference action by hosting the Kansas Jayhawks in a twinbill starting at 3 p.m. OSU will host the Texas Tech Red Raiders the following weekend with single games on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. and 1 p.m.
WHO'S HOT
Lauren Bay - The lefthanded hurler has a 1.01 earned run average in her last five appearances and a 3-1 record. She hwas thrown three complete games with two shutouts. She also has 35 strikeouts in 27-2/3 innings, an average of 8.86 Ks per game.
Jenny Kipp - The junior third baseman is batting .357 in the last 10 games, and has nine runs scored. She has a .486 on-base percentage with seven walks, and is perfect on three stolen-base attempts.
Sarah Knife Chief - The senior pitcher has a 3-1 record in her last four appearances and a 0.70 earned run average. She has given up just three runs, two earned, in 20 innings. She has two complete games, a shutout and a combined shutout.
Tiffany Paper - The freshman righthander is 1-0 in her last three appearances with a 1.50 earned run average. She has 18 strikeouts in 14 innings, an average of nine strikeouts per contest. She also has a complete-game shutout and a combined shutout.
Danielle Thomas - The freshman centerfielder is batting .438 over the last 10 games, with 14 hits in 32 at-bats. She has a double and a triple, with six runs and three RBIs. She also has been successful on 5-of-6 stolen base attempts.
Angela Veronesi - In the last 10 games, the juco transfer is batting .526 with 10 hits in 19 at-bats. She also has a .625 on-base percentage.

Sophomore Lauren Bay leads the team in two-out RBIs with nine, followed by freshman Jade Lindly, who has eight ... Freshman Calli Behmer is batting .800 with runners in scoring position (4-for-5) ... Sophomore Lauren Bay is currently on a six-game hitting streak, the longest of the season for any Cowgirl ... Oklahoma State has scored 20 of its 86 runs this season in the first inning ... OSU has 34 multiple-hit games this season as a team, including a 4-for-4 performance by Veronesi vs. Utah in the Red Desert Classic ... Freshman Danielle Thomas has the team's longest hitting streak of the season with a current 10-game streak ... Senior Amanda Hayes has a current eight-game hitting streak.
COWGIRL SOFTBALL ON THE AIR
Beginning with the Kansas series next week, the remainder of Oklahoma State's home games, as well as the OU game in Norman, will be broadcast live on Stillwater Radio. Bill VanNess will provide the play-by-play for the third-consecutive season. Most games will be broadcast on 780 AM, with a few exceptions. Both OU games will be on 105.5 FM, as will the Tulsa game on April 11. All postseason games will also be aired on Stillwater Radio.
