Oklahoma State Defeats Tulane

Oklahoma State's 45th-ranked women's tennis team downed 47th-ranked Tulane today in Arlington, Texas.
"It was a tough match from top to bottom," head coach Julius Lubicz-Majewski said. "I am really proud of the girls, they played their hearts out and got the victory."
OSU swept the first four matches with senior Maria Galoustova-Phillips outlasting the nation's 10th-ranked Anna Monhartova 7-6(6), 6-4 at the No. 1 position. OSU's No. 49th-ranked junior Dominika Olszewska defeated Tulane's No. 82nd-ranked Joyce Bergman 4-6, 6-2, 7-6(3) in the No. 2 position, while sophomore Linda Faltynkova won the No. 3 position by beating Julie Morris in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.
Freshman Kate Kolodynska followed a 6-1 victory in the first set to Anneli Axsater and manhandled her in the second set 6-0 at the No. 4 position. Junior Ashleigh Dolman outlasted Maiko Cook at the No. 6 position defeating her in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.
OSU's 21st-ranked duo of Dolman and Galoustova-Phillips eased past Morris and Bergman 9-8 (3), while sophomore Linda Faltynkova and Kolodynska blew by Nancy Kockott and Lucy Wood 8-3.
OSU improved to 2-0 on the season and will play Texas-Arlington on Saturday.
