Cowgirls Upset No. 29 Aggies 4-3

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Oklahoma State's 30th-ranked women's tennis team knocked off No. 29 Texas A&M 4-2 on Friday in the Big 12 opener for both schools.
The Cowgirls improved to 5-2 on the season, while A&M suffered its first loss, falling to 6-1 on the season.
The Cowgirls lost at the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles spots to lose the match's first team point.
However, the Cowgirls won four of the first five singles matches to clinch the victory. After losing the first set, Maria Galoustova-Phillips stormed back to defeat Jessica Roland, 0-6, 6-3, 6-1, while Dominika Olszewska did the same, downing Olivia Karlikova, 1-6, 7-6, 6-3.
OSU's Linda Faltynkova won in straight sets over Leah Killen, 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 3 position to extend the Cowgirl lead. Kate Vasylyeva downed Ashley Hedberg 6-4, 7-5 to secure the win.
OSU's Ashleigh Dolman and the Aggies' Roberta Spencer did not finish their match at the No. 6 position.
The Cowgirls will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Austin to take on the No. 5 Texas Longhorns.
