Cowboys Fall to Washington State

Oklahoma State's baseball team suffered a 12-2 loss this afternoon in what was supposed to have been their home opener against Washington State.
The game was moved to the David Allen Memorial stadium in Enid, Okla. due to adverse weather conditions.
With the loss, the Cowboys move to 6-2 on the season, and the Cougars improve to 3-5 overall.
Washington State scored a run in the first inning, but Oklahoma State tied the game in the fifth as Jose Virgil singled and scored off of Kyle Smith's sacrifice fly to center field.
The Cougars then added two more runs in the sixth inning before putting the game out of reach by scoring nine runs in the seventh.
Josh Merrigan got the loss for the Cowboys, despite allowing only three runs and striking out six batters in five innings on the mound. Washington State's Tyson Thompson got the win for the Cougars.
The Cowboys will play their home opener tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium. There will be no charge for admission to the game.
