Cowgirl Softball Announces Recruiting Class

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Cowgirl softball team announced the signing of five players to national letters of intent last week. Three Oklahomans and two Californians make up the fall signing class.
Lacy Darity is a senior at Velma-Alma High School in Velma, Okla. She is a three time All- Area honoree and was named All-State her senior season. Darity also led the Velma-Alma basketball team to a State Championship title her junior year and was named the State Tournament MVP.
"Lacy will come in as a utility player," said Head Coach Margaret Rebenar. "She will enhance the speed aspect of our game and has the potential to play infield or outfield."
Sarah Seagraves is a senior at Edmond Memorial High School in Edmond, Okla. She was a four year varsity starter and a three-time Player-of-the-Year selection. Seagraves played pitcher and first base at Edmond Memorial and was named All-Big City Player of the Year for 2001.
"Sarah is probably a top 15 recruit in this region," said Rebenar. "She will bring tremendous depth to the pitching staff at Oklahoma State."
Ashleigh Tweed is a senior at Mustang High School in Mustang, Okla. She was a two-time Mustang High School Most Valuable Player and was named the All-Metro Athletic Conference MVP for 2001. Tweed was named to the All-Big City 2001 first team at second base and was also a 2001 All-State selection.
"Ashleigh will come in as a backup middle infielder," said Rebenar. "She has the potential to see some playing time in the outfield next season and will also bring enhanced speed to the team."
Dara Webb is a graduate of Pacifica High School in Garden Grove, Calif. She was a four year letterwinner and played second base and shortstop while at Pacifica. Webb will transfer to Oklahoma State from Palomar College in San Marcos, Calif., with two years of eligibility remaining. Webb will serve as co-team captain at Palomar during the 2002 season.
"Dara will be incredibly valuable to our ball club," said Rebenar. "She will fill two slots for us, shortstop and the leadoff spot. Dara also has incredible foot speed and will bring great leadership to the team."
Crystal Lee is a graduate of Rancho Buena Vista High School in Vista, Calif. She was a four year letterwinner and was named first team All-Conference her sophomore season. Webb will also transfer to Oklahoma State as a junior from Palomar College in San Marcos, Calif. She was named All-Pacific Coast Conference outfielder for the 2001 season and will serve as co-team captain at Palomar during the 2002 season.
"Crystal is a solid outfielder," said Rebenar. "She is a true power impact player from the offensive standpoint. Crystal will also bring great leadership to the program as a junior."
