Women's Netters Complete First Round in Tulsa

Oklahoma State's women's tennis team advanced one singles player and two doubles teams on Thursday at the Omni Hotels Central Region Tennis Championships in Tulsa.
Seeded No. 3 junior Linda Faltynkova was the lone Cowgirl to advance to the second round of the singles bracket. by beating Jenny Bowman of Wyoming 7-6, 6-4. No. 62 ranked Faltynkova will face Helen Lawson of BYU in the second round on Friday.
Sophomore Katia Kolodynska, the No. 12 seed, fell to Oyuki Cruz of Southwest Missouri State 6-0, 3-6, 6-4.
No. 19 seeded senior Dominika Olszewska lost to Northern Arizona's Yvonee de Waal 6-2, 6-1 in the first round.
Junior Katia Vasylyeva got beaten by Elena Jimova of Oklahoma 4-6, 6-4, 7-6.
Vasylyeva and junior Erin Pauchnik teamed up to beat Shelby and Black of Air Force Academy 8-4 in the first round of the doubles bracket.
Senior Ashleigh Dolman and Olszewska will play in the second round on Friday after receiving a first round bye. They will play Goedjer and Gyaki of Iowa State in the second round.
The tennis tournament will return to action on Friday at 9 a.m.
