Oklahoma State's women's equestrian team placed 12 members in the top three during the first show of the year in Manhattan.
"Overall, I was really pleased with how the team performed," head coach Larry Sanchez said. "We can take some things home that we can improve on for the next show."
Saturday, the Cowgirls started the show by taking home seven first places finishes, one second and four third place finishes.
OSU captured 16 team points for a fourth place finish on Saturday, while Texas A&M finished first with 21 points. Kansas State finished second with 19 points, while West Texas A&M captured 17 points en route to a third place finish.
"Saturday was better than today," Sanchez said. "But I am happy with the way things went for the first show."
On Sunday, the Cowgirls' freshman Riley Ring, sophomore Crissy Meeks, and junior Emily Hoaglan each captured second place, while sophomore Kristen Dickerson, freshman Amy Scott, junior Sarah Potter and sophomore Chandy Hale finished third.
The Cowgirls finished fourth with 14 points, while Kansas State recorded 22 points to finish first. West Texas A&M had 21 points and Texas A&M notched 17 points to finish second and third, respectively.
The Cowgirls will return to action on Nov. 10 when they travel to Texas A&M for two Western shows.
