Cowgirl Softball To Host Winter Clinic

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Cowgirl softball program will host a pair of one-day clinics this month, Jan. 20-21, to provide in-depth instruction for both pitching and hitting. The pitchers and catchers camp will be on Saturday, Jan. 20, and the batting and bunting clinic will be on Sunday, Jan. 21.
During the pitching clinic, pitchers will be divided into skill groups and instructed according to their ability. Various pitches will be introduced, and the mental game will also be discussed.
Also during the pitching camp, catchers will receive in-depth instruction relative to their position. There will be discussion and participation in the basic mechanics of catching, including: pickoffs, steals, blocking balls, calling pitches and reading hitters.
The batting and bunting clinic will provide in-depth instruction on fastpitch hitting fundamentals and bunting. Participants will receive demonstration and drill strategy that will improve their game. Skill development in these areas is a must for aspiring athetes.
All girls, ages six (6) and older, are eligible to attend. High school seniors are allowed to participate under NCAA rules. Registration is >from 8 - 9 a.m. each day, and the clinics will run from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. The cost for each clinic is $65, and includes four hours of instruction, secondary insurance and a clinic t-shirt.
