STILLWATER, Okla. -- OSU Athletics wishes to respond to numerous fans' questions about the heating and cooling of the new Gallagher-Iba Arena and the traffic control around the building.
University officials are aware of the heating and cooling issues within the new facility. Due to ongoing construction, these problems will unfortunately not be remedied easily until all construction is completed. OSU is making every effort to give the building as comfortable an environment as possible and asks that fans be patient with the progress.
The athletics department is working actively with campus police regarding the new issues of traffic flow and parking that accompany an arena that has more than doubled in size. Traffic issues at Monday's game against Iowa State were exacerbated by the fact that many students in attendance had driven in specifically for the game, while at most events, many will be walking to the arena from their residences.
The authorities are in the process of studying the traffic issues from personnel and strategic standpoints, and OSU is hopeful that the situation will improve in the coming weeks.
