STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's softball team will get the fall season underway this weekend as the Cowgirls host the OSU Fall Mini-Classic this Saturday at Cowgirl Stadium. Games will begin at 9 a.m.
The first game will feature Tulsa vs. Seminole State College, followed by the Tulsa-Central Oklahoma contest at 11 a.m. The Cowgirls will play their first game at 1 p.m. vs. Seminole State, followed by OSU-TU at 3 p.m. Seminole and UCO will battle at 5 p.m., with Oklahoma State and Central Oklahoma wrapping things up at 7 p.m.
"This tournament will give us a chance to see what some of our newcomers can do," said OSU coach Sandy Fischer, entering her 23rd season at the helm of the Cowgirls. "We've got a lot of new faces, and several voids to fill, so this will help us in our preparation for the upcoming season."
Oklahoma State's roster features 11 returners from last year's 33-22 team, and 10 newcomers. Veteran starters from last year's club include catcher Ryan Realmuto, second-baseman Lezli Leathers, third-baseman Jenny Kipp, shortstop Casey O'Neill, and outfielders Amanda Hayes and Paula Garman. On the mound, the Cowgirls top hurler is back in Lauren Bay.
Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for children, students and senior citizens. OSU students with the All-Sports Ticket get in free. All fans, regardless of age, must have a ticket to enter the stadium.
