Oklahoma State's baseball team fell to Nebraska 20-2 in a seven-inning run rule Sunday at Buck Beltzer stadium. With the loss, Oklahoma State falls to 35-18 overall and 13-14 in Big 12 conference play. Fourth-ranked Nebraska improves to 38-12 overall and 19-6 in conference action.
Nebraska got on the board first in the second inning courtesy of Brandon Eymann's three-run homer and a pair of singles. The Huskers added two runs in the third inning and three runs in the fourth to take a 9-0 lead. Oklahoma State got on the board in the fifth inning as Jimbo McAuliff hit a solo home run to over the right field fence. Paul Powell led off the sixth inning with a triple and scored on Jose Virgil's sacrifice fly, making the score 18-2.
Nebraska added nine runs in the fifth inning and two runs in the bottom of the sixth to bring the score to 20-2. Brian Kraft led the Cowboys offensively, going 3-for-3. Powell was 1-for-3 with a triple, and McAuliff was 1-for-4 with a home run. The Cowboys will return to action this weekend as they face intrastate rival Oklahoma at Driller's Stadium in Tulsa, Okla. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.

Oklahoma State's Cowgirl equestrian team crowned an individual national
champion today at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Show
Sunday in Atlanta, Ga.
Sophomore Jenny Myles was named the IHSA champion in her western class.
Saturday, Myles placed sixth in her hunt seat class.
In other action, Amber Higgins placed fourth in her western class and Casie
Cavanaugh placed 10th.
Women's Golf

Oklahoma State's 10th-ranked Cowgirl golf team, fresh off a tournament win
at the Big 12 Championships, has been selected to compete in the NCAA
Central Regional Golf Championships, May 10-12, at the Kampen Golf Course in
West Lafayette, Ind. OSU was ranked as the third-best team in the Central
Region.
The Cowgirls are coming off their second Big 12 title in three years, including an individual medal for senior Maria Bod?n. Bod?n won the championship with a 20-foot birdie putt on the first hole of a three-person playoff. Other members of the squad that will compete at the regional are junior Emma Zackrisson and sophomores Christi Cano, Julie Jacques and Linda Wessberg.
OSU will be one of 21 teams entered in the tournament. Other teams competing in the Central Regional will be: No. 8 New Mexico State, ninth-ranked Texas, No. 13 Tulsa, 14th-ranked LSU, No. 15 Oklahoma, 22nd-ranked Kent State, No. 23 Purdue, 24th-ranked Baylor, No. 29 Alabama, 33rd-ranked Texas A&M, No. 34 Nebraska, 36th-ranked Central Florida, No. 37 California, 40th-ranked Texas Tech, No. 42 Minnesota, 44th-ranked Florida, Idaho, Oral Roberts, Princeton and San Francisco.
The teams with the best finish at the regional championships will move on to the NCAA Championships, May 22-25, at Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
Softball (25-21, 6-8 Big 12)

Oklahoma State scored three runs in both the third and sixth innings,
propelling the Cowgirl softball team to a 7-1 victory over the Wichita State
Shockers in Stillwater Wednesday night in the final regular-season game for
OSU. The win improves Oklahoma State's record to 25-21 overall.
The Cowgirls scored one run in the second when Teresa Ritchie walked with
two outs and was followed by an RBI double by Jade Lindly. OSU added three
in the third on three hits, including back-to-back RBI singles by senior
Amanda Hayes and sophomore Ryan Realmuto.
Cowgirl starter Tiffany Paper faced the minimum through four innings before Ande Kleckner walked to lead off the fifth. Lisa Clary broke up the no-hitter two batters later, and later scored on a base hit down the leftfield line by Courtney Crumbliss just past the outstretched glove of third baseman Jenny Kipp.
Ritchie led off the sixth with a home run, her first of the season, that hit the leftfield poll about three-quarters from the top. Shortstop Casey O'Neill, who went 2-for-3 in the game, singled and later scored on a bases-loaded walk by Kipp. With two outs, WSU second baseman Nicki Mooers committed an error, her second of the game, allowing Danielle Thomas to score from third.
Paper threw five innings, giving up just one run on two hits while striking out five. Freshman Kara Wentworth threw the final two innings, giving up just one run.
The next action for Oklahoma State will be on Thursday, May 10, at the Big 12 Tournament in Oklahoma City, Okla. The Cowgirls will play at 11 a.m. as either the No. 4 or No. 5 seed in the tournament, facing either Kansas or Texas Tech.
Men's Tennis (15-8, 5-3 Big 12)

Oklahoma State's men's tennis team will travel to Palo Alto, Cal., for the
first and second rounds of the NCAA Championships on May 12-13 at Stanford
University.
The 37th-ranked Cowboys will take on No. 31 Florida in the opening round on Saturday, May 12. The winner will either take on defending national champion Stanford, ranked No. 1 in the nation, or No. 4 seed Pacific on May 13 for a berth in the NCAA Round of 16.
The Cowboys are coming off a 15-8 season which was highlighted by a stunning 4-2 victory over then second-ranked Tennessee at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Team Championships in Seattle.
Florida has posted a 9-16 record in 2001 with a 3-8 SEC record in the challenging conference. The SEC again dominated the selection field with all 12 teams receiving berths.
OSU has never faced Florida or Pacific. The Cowboys are 0-1 against Stanford, losing 5-1 in 1990. The University of Pacific has posted a 14-10 record and received the automatic berth for Big West Champions.
Junior Matt Prentice was selected for the individual championships in Athens, Georgia. The Wellington, New Zealand, native posted a 12-10 record with his biggest win coming against then 5th-ranked Bo Hodge of Georgia. The Cowboys last NCAA appearance came in 1998 when they lost to Cal Berkely, 4-2, in the Regional Finals.
Women's Tennis (22-4, 10-1 Big 12)

Oklahoma State's women's tennis team tallied two more awards on the season,
as the Big 12 Conference announced the postseason honors for men's and
women's tennis on Friday.
While leading the Cowgirls to a 22-4 record and tying Texas for regular-season Big 12 Champs, head coach Julius Lubicz-Majewski was named the women's tennis Coach of the Year.
In her final season as a Cowgirl, senior Maria Galoustova-Phillips was named the Player of the Year. Phillips posted a 19-5 record at the No. 1 singles spot and defeated four ranked opponents.
Phillips was also awarded Academic All-Big 12, Central Region Senior Player of the Year and Big 12 Singles Champion at the No. 1 position. The Cowgirls are one of 16 teams that will host first and second round regionals for the NCAA Championships. The regional will be held at Oak Tree Country Club on May 12-13.
The Cowgirls are the top seed followed by Wake Forest, Illinois State and No. 4 seed Oral Roberts.
Men's Track

UTA Open
Members of the Cowboy track team traveled in two directions this weekend,
competing in the Cardinal Invitational in Stanford, Calif., and the UTA Open
in Arlington, Texas.
Ben Lake and Daniel Voegeli competed in Stanford. Lake placed seventh in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:26.32. Voegeli's time of 3:47.64 earned him 23rd place in the 1500m.
Traveling to the UTA Open were Chris McWatters, Scott Rantall and Jason Woolhouse. McWatters placed 22nd in the 1500m with a time of 4:08.04. Rantall finished the 1500m in 27th place with a time of 4:14.64. Jason Woolhouse's time of 9:16.70 gave him a second-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
The Cowboys are scheduled to compete in the Cardinal Qualifier this weekend before traveling to College Station, Texas, for the Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
Women's Track

Last week: UTA Open Meet
Joanna Fedick was the lone Oklahoma State track and field runner to compete
over the weekend at the UTA Open Meet.
Fedick finished second in the 5,000-meter with a time of 18:50.15. Her best time of the season.
The Cowgirls will next compete at Stanford next weekend before they travel to College Station, Texas for the Big 12 Championships May 17-20.
