LAS VEGAS---- Oklahoma State's women's tennis squad will open the fall season on Friday when it travels to Las Vegas for the UNLV Invitational.
The Cowgirl netters enter the 2000 season with high expectations. OSU returns five starters, including one of the nation's top doubles teams in Ashleigh Dolman and Maria Galoustova, from last year's squad that posted a 16-5 record and finished fourth in the Big 12 Conference.
Among the key returners will also be Dominika Olszewska and Linda Faltynkova.
Competing at the No. 2 singles slot, Olszewska amassed a record of 13-8 a year ago. As a freshman last season, Faltynkova finished with a 19-2 mark at the No. 3 position.
Dolman and Galoustova got an early start on the fall season last weekend. The pair finished 1-1 at the T. Rowe Price National Intercollegiate Clay Court Championships in Baltimore.
The 20th-ranked duo advanced to the event's quarterfinal round after knocking off the No. 11 team in the country, Kentucky's Carolina Mayorga and Sarah Witten.
