Cowgirls Sweep Butler County In Tripleheader

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's softball team swept a trio of games from Butler County Community College, winning by scores of 4-1, 2-1 and 4-0. The sweep improves the Cowgirls' fall scrimmage record to 11-0.
Freshman hurler Tiffany Paper started the day with a complete-game shutout, giving up one unearned run while striking out six. Fellow freshman Kara Wentworth pitched the second complete game, giving up just one run on three hits. Sophomore Lauren Bay completed the sweep with a no-hitter, with the only Lady Grizzly reaching base on an error.
At the plate, the Cowgirls continued their offensive onslaught, batting .382 as a team in the three games on 21 hits. Three players, Teresa Ritchie, Jenny Kipp and Amanda Hayes, had three hits each. Hayes had a single, a double and a home run on the evening.
Oklahoma State will host Seminole State College on Wednesday, Sept. 27, in its final home series of the fall season. The Cowgirls will wind up the scrimmages on Sept. 30-Oct. 1 when they travel to Kansas City, Mo., to compete in the KC Invitational.
