Baltimore, Md. -- Oklahoma State's No. 1 doubles team of Ashleigh Dolman and Maria Galoustova will compete in the main draw of the T. Rowe Price National Intercollegiate Clay Court Championships Sept. 21-24.
The national tournament, which is held in Baltimore, Maryland, is the first leg of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Grand Slam.
"To be in the main draw is a great achievement and it will be a good experience for the girls," head coach Julius Lubicz-Majewski said.
The duo had a successful fall a year ago, posting a record of 16-3 en route to capturing the Central Region championship. Dolman, a junior, and Galoustova, a senior, finished the 2000 season as the region's top-ranked squad.
"The girls are excited," Lubicz-Majewski said. "It is an important tournament for the them and a good event to start the season because of the level of competition."
Entering this season, Dolman and Galoustova have been tabbed as the No. 20 doubles team in the country.
Yesterday, Dolman lost 8-5 in the first round of singles qualifying to Virginia Commonwealth's Raluca Ciulei.
