Vasquez Named Big 12 Runner Of The Week

DALLAS -- Oklahoma State senior cross country runner Junior Vasquez was named the Big 12 Conference runner of the week, the conference announced today.
This award comes after leading the Cowboys to a win at the Princeton Invitational on Sept. 16. Vasquez finished the race with a time of 24:33, giving him a second-place finish. Vasquez also placed second at the Wichita Gold Classic on Sept. 2. He finished with a time of 20:41, ushering OSU to its first win of the season.
The senior from Rolla, Kan. was a member of the 1999 Cross Country Academic All-America Team and finished the 1999 season by placing 20th at the Big 12 meet and 149th at the NCAA Championships.
Vasquez and the Cowboys are getting ready for the Cowboy Jamboree on Sept. 30.
