Men's Cross Country Wins At Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Oklahoma State' s Cowboy cross country team had seven of the top 10 finishes as it won at Princeton.
The win is the second for OSU this season. The Cowboys won the Wichita State Gold Classic on Sept. 2.
Senior Junior Vasquez led the Cowboys with a second place finish and a time of 24:30.2. Freshman Jason Woolhouse finished third with a time of 24:38.9, and freshmen brothers Johan and Bjorn Bergstrom finished second and third with times of 24:46.7 and 24:59, respectively. Matt Hart, Gregory Rouault, and Ben Lake finished off the top 10 with times of 25:02 and 25:06.
Also placing in the top 25 for OSU were Kevin Connolly, Bruce Wright, Jerry Rainey, Daniel Voegeli, and Trey Vernon. Connolly placed 13th with a time of 25:08, and Wright placed 16th with a time of 25:13. Rainey and Voegeli came in 17th and 18th with times of 24:14 and 25:17. Vernon finished the race with a time of 25:19 and a 19th place finish.
"I am very excited about this team since four freshman finished in the top 10," said Coach Dick Weis. "We need some strong front runners, but this is the deepest we've been."
The Cowboys return home to host the Cowboy Jamboree on Sept. 30 at the OSU Cross Country Course.
