Cowgirl Softball Wins Two At Oklahoma Shootout

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Oklahoma State's softball team picked up two more wins here Saturday afternoon, defeating Oklahoma Christian, 6-0, before defeating Southwestern Oklahoma State, 5-4, in the Oklahoma Shootout at Don E. Porter/ASA Hall of Fame Stadium.

In the first game, Cowgirl freshman Tiffany Paper struck out five en route to a complete-game shutout. Junior Jenny Kipp provided much of the offense with three runs and an RBI double.

In the second contest, the OSU scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to overcome a two-run deficit for the win. With two outs and down, 4-2, Lezli Leathers, Nikki Quiroz and Amanda Hayes hit back-to-back-to-back RBI singles.

Oklahoma State, 6-0 this fall, will play two more games on Sunday. The first will be at noon and the second will be at 4 p.m.
