Cowgirl Softball To Compete In Oklahoma Shootout

STILLWATER, Okla. -- Oklahoma State's Cowgirl softball team, fresh off three wins last weekend in the OSU Fall Mini-Classic, will travel to Oklahoma City this weekend to compete in the Oklahoma Shootout, hosted by USA Softball.
The Cowgirls will play Oklahoma City in their first game on Friday at 4 p.m. on the Stadium Field at Don E. Porter/ASA Hall of Fame Stadium. Oklahoma State will return to action on Saturday evening as OSU plays Oklahoma Christian at 6 p.m. on the north field, and Southeastern State at 8 p.m. on the main field.
On Sunday, the Cowgirls will play a junior college team on the main field at noon, followed by a contest with Cameron at 4 p.m. on the north field.
Other teams competing in the tournament are Oklahoma, Central Oklahoma and Tulsa.
Oklahoma State is led by senior second baseman Lezli Leathers, who is batting .857 with six hits in seven at-bats. She also has a 1.429 slugging percentage and an .889 on -base average. Sophomore catcher Ryan Realmuto, a Del City product, is batting .625 with a 1.125 slugging percentage and seven runs batted in.
On the mound, sophomore Lauren Bay is 1-0 with a 1.00 earned run average and eight strikeouts in seven innings. Freshman Tiffany Paper is 2-0 with a complete-game shutout. Amber Annis, a freshman from Stillwater, has not allowed a run in two innings pitched.
