For the second time in three days, Kansas State used solid pitching and key hits to change the momentum of the game as the Wildcats clinched the season series over the Cowboys for the first time since 1977 with a 14-7 victory Sunday at Frank Myers Field.

The Cowboys went 2-2 on the road last week. OSU is now 19-14 overall and 6-9 in the Big 12.

Oklahoma State will return to Stillwater this week to take on Texas Southern on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Cowboys will remain at home this weekend for a three game series against Texas A&M.

Men's Golf

This Week: idle
Last Week: Third place at U.S. Collegiate

Edward Loar survived a 54th-hole double-bogey to record a career-best score of 20 and win the U.S. Collegiate Championship's individual trophy Sunday.

The Cowboy senior, who entered Sunday's final round with a three-stroke lead, picked up the fifth tournament title of his career by finishing one stroke ahead of Northwestern's Luke Donald. His five career medalist honors tie for 10th in OSU history. For the second time this season -- and the second time in his career -- Loar completed a tournament with three straight rounds in the 60's, he sandwiched Saturday's 65 between first- and third-round 69's.

As a team, the Cowboys finished third at 9-under-par (855) while Georgia Tech ran away with the team title at 26-under. Clemson finished second, just three strokes ahead of OSU.

The U.S. Collegiate was OSU's final tournament before the Cowboys look to regain their league title at the Big 12 Championship on April 24 and 25.

Women's Golf

This Week: idle
Last Week: First place at Utah/Dixie Classic

Oklahoma State's 10th-ranked women's golf team won the team championship at the Utah/Dixie Classic in St. George, Utah Tuesday afternoon, defending its championship from a year ago. Meanwhile, junior Maria Boden won the individual title with a three-round score of 212, the lowest score by a Cowgirl since 1977, when Alicia Ogrin shot a 210.

OSU shot an 887 as a team, outdistancing second-place Texas Tech by eight strokes. It is OSU's third team title this year.

The individual championship was the seventh of Boden's career, and third of the season. It was also the fourth individual title won by a Cowgirl this year. Boden also won the Big 12 Preview and the Shootout at the Legends this past fall.

Next up for Oklahoma State will be the Big 12 Championships, April 21-23, in Lubbock, Texas.

Soccer

Andrea Larsen's second half goal kept Oklahoma State's women's soccer team undefeated in the spring with a 2-2 tie against Arkansas Saturday afternoon in Fayetteville.

OSU jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first two minutes of the game when Andi Lute took an assist from Kellie Williams and scored past the Arkansas goalkeeper.

Arkansas tied the game just a minute later and eventually took a 2-1 lead in the second half.

Mercy Morrical scored what was believed to be the game tying goal but it was called back and the Cowgirls still trailed before Larsen scored off an assist from Lute to keep OSU undefeated in the spring.

OSU closes out its spring schedule this weekend against Tulsa and Oral Roberts in Edmond. The Cowgirls will face Tulsa at 11 a.m. before wrapping up the spring with ORU at 6 p.m.

Softball (29-15, 6-5 Big 12)

After several months of being without a place to call home, the OSU Softball team has scheduled the grand opening of its softball complex for April 15. Festivities are slated to begin at approximately 30 minutes before the Cowgirls' 3 p.m. contest against Nebraska.

Oklahoma State will host Wichita State (12-20 overall, 2-2 in Missouri Valley) on Thursday, April 13, at the Cowgirl Stadium in Stillwater.

Last week the Cowgirls lost to Oklahoma and Missouri and swept Kansas in a doubleheader.

Men's Tennis (8-4, 1-1 Big 12)

This Week:

Last Week: Won on the road vs. Tulsa, 4-3

The 75th-ranked Oklahoma State men's tennis team defeated in-state rival Tulsa, 4-3, on Wednesday afternoon at the Harwell Tennis Courts.

The win was the second consecutive for the Cowboys, who improved to 8-4 on the season and 1-1 in conference play.

The two teams split six singles matches before the Cowboys took two out of three doubles matches to secure the contest's final team point.

The Cowboys will see their first action at home when they square off against Oklahoma on April 12 at 2 p.m.

Women's Tennis (13-3, 5-3)

The 56th-ranked Oklahoma State women's tennis team completed a weekend sweep of conference opponents with a 7-2 win over No. 42 Kansas State at the Washburn Tennis Facility. The Cowgirls knocked off Missouri, 8-1, on Friday and downed Kansas, 7-2, on Saturday.

OSU, 13-3 overall and 5-3 in the Big 12, won five out of six singles matches to end the Wildcats' eight match winning streak.

The Cowgirls will return to action on Thursday when they host No. 23 Tulsa at 2 p.m.

Men's Outdoor Track and Field

Last Week: Radio Shack Crossroads Invitational

Oklahoma State's men's track team had the top two finishes in the 1,500-meter and 5,000-meter races at the Radio Chack Crossroads College Invitational last Friday.

Junior Vasquez ran away with the title in the 1,500m with a 4:07.01 finish. Ben Tickner finished second in 4:12.21.

Derek Tate won the 5,000m in 15:57.00, while Jerry Rainey finished second in 15:59.00. Trey Vernon led the second surge of Cowboys with a fifth-place finish in 16:34.00. Jon Cordes crossed the line in sixth in 16:45.00, and Gregory Rouault was seventh with a time of 16:58.00. Cedric DuPont finished eighth in 17:15.00.

This week the Cowboys will travel to Walnut, Calif. to compete in the Mt. SAC Relays.

Women's Outdoor Track and Field

Oklahoma State's Melinda Jackson displayed her jumping talent this weekend at the 73rd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, hosted by the University of Texas.

Jackson, a senior, finished ninth in the college women's "A" triple jump. Her mark was 12.22m.

Also shining for OSU was Junior Araceli Davila in the 10,000m. Davila captured the top spot in the event, finishing first with a time of 38.00.33. Davila was 15 seconds ahead of second-place winner, Northwestern's Karen Rogers.

Junior Sara Wells made it to the finals in the 3,000m. She ended up finishing 12th with a time of 10:10.71.

The Cowgirls will return to action this upcoming weekend. The team will be divided between the John Jacobs Invitational and the Mt. SAC Relays.
