Cowgirls Qualify 16 Riders for Zones

STILLWATER, Okla. -- Sixteen members of Oklahoma State's Cowgirl Equestrian team will advance to the zone competition. The zone show will be held April 1 in Canyon, Texas and will be hosted by West Texas A&M.

Oklahoma State qualified the largest number of riders with riders participating in 21 different classes, 11 hunt seat classes and 10 western classes. Texas A&M qualified seven riders who will participate in nine different classes. Texas qualified three riders for the zone show, and West Texas A&M, Trinity, and Kansas State will have one rider representing them at zones.

At the zone show, the Cowgirls will compete with other riders that qualified from region 2 as well as the riders that qualified from region 1. The top two riders in each class will advance to the national show.

The Cowgirls will return to action this weekend as they travel to Las Cruces, N.M. for the Tournament of Champions Western Show.
