Cowgirls Prepare For Regional Show

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Equestrian team will host its first-ever zone 7, region 2 regional show on Saturday.
The show will begin with a hunt seat show at 8:00 a.m. and continue with a western show that will begin at approximately noon. The show will be held at the Animal Science Arena, located west of the intersection of Western and McElroy streets. Admission is free, and concession stands will be available.
The regional show is the first regional show hosted by the Cowgirls since equestrian became a varsity sport last spring. It also marks the second show that Oklahoma State has hosted this year. Teams from Texas A&M, Texas, Texas Tech, West Texas A&M, Kansas State, Trinity University, and Sul Ross State will be represented in the show.
Oklahoma State automatically qualified as a team for the Zone 7 Hunt Seat Show, where they will compete against Region 1 winner Colorado State. The zone show will be held April 1 in Canyon, Texas, and the winner will advance to the national show May 12-14 in Atlanta, Ga.
The Cowgirls qualified for nationals in the western classes as they won the Texas A&M Western Show. With the win, they finished in first place in regional points, and will automatically advance to nationals.
