STILLWATER, Okla. -- Oklahoma State's Cowgirl equestrian team automatically qualified for the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Show this past weekend as they won the Texas A&M Western Show.

Oklahoma State finished the ten qualifying shows with 204 points, good enough for a first place finish in the regional standings and an automatic nationals bid. Texas A&M finished second in Region 2 with 186 points.
While the top team in each region's point standings will automatically qualify for nationals, the top two teams will compete in the Zone 7 competition on April 8. OSU and Texas A&M will compete against the top two teams from Region 1, and the highest-placing team that has not yet qualified for nationals will advance to the national show.

Hefley scored 37 points, and Makloski and Walentine scored a total of 38 each for the season. To qualify for regionals in the advanced II stock seat, each rider must have a minimum of 35 points.
In the intermediate II class, Amy Eastty and Amber Higgins will advance to the regional show. Eastty scored a total of 40 points over the season, and Higgins earned 38. Each rider must have earned 35 points to advance to regionals in the intermediate II class.
